The classic process
There are a few steps to be taken to get your company registered with the Austrian companies' register. Legal advice typically comprises the setting up of a first draft of the constitutional documents based on an initial meeting, the discussion of such draft with you and the amendment of such draft in accordance with the results of the internal discussion. Thereafter, the final version of the constitiutional documents are signed in front of an Austrian notary public and the share capital contributions are paid by the shareholders to a newly opened bank account of the company (or an escrow account of the notary – which is usually less time-consuming). Finally, the notarized constitutional documents are submitted by the lawyers to the competent court for registration of the company with the companies' register.
Usually, setting up a company the old-fashioned way takes four to eight weeks.
